These figureheads were used outside buildings to indicate that it was a pharmacy. The one pictured at right is still above a pharmacy (on Herenstraat) but one near this is the sign for the “de Vergulde Gaper” a cafe on Prinsengracht.

Amnesty

The government is deep in discussion on the amnesty for refugee claimants & illegal migrants to get residency in the Netherlands. The amnesty applies to those who arrived prior to 2001 and would be life changing good for more than 20,000 people.
