They belong in Thailand but Tuktuks have invaded Amsterdam over summer.
Apparently the invasion started a year ago, but they only arrived in Amsterdam this year. They’re running a much needed service, as mini taxis in the centre of Amsterdam. The city is reasonably well served by trams and buses but there are some annoying gaps that the tuktuks can fill in. Particularly as taxis often refuse to take you short distances. (It’s illegal, but it happens).
There’s info and a film clip on the official tuk tuk website, but as it’s in Dutch I’ve translated the key bits below.
They all carry advertising, but the one pictured is part of a competition campaign by Tuc, a biscuit company. You can win a trip to Thailand.

Thanks, the site now says “from 3.50 per person” and doesn’t set out the zones or have any other information except that you’ll pay a fixed price. Not entirely helpful.
