Shops displayed the daffodil award
My local shopping street was voted the “leukste winkelstraat“, or the best shopping street.
It’s changed a lot since I moved here, and it now has a selection of specialist food stores, wine merchants, boutiques and a number of cafes and restaurants. To celebrate the win many of the stores were displaying the over-sized daffodil.
You can see a good overview of the street via nlstreets, including a virtual walk down the street. If you do visit I recommend Jordino for the ice cream, Le Sud for a range of Mediterranean salads and spreads, Meeuwig en zon for olive oils drawn straight from the barrel.
No wonder I love this neighbourhood.
