Best of Both Worlds

There are houseboats lining most of the canals of Amsterdam. Some of them are in old traditional canal boats and some are custom made floating houses. There is even a house boat museum that you can look around. All the houseboats are connected to gas, electricity, water and sewage. Most of them never leave their designated spot on the side of the canal. The floating home style house boats often have little balconies decorated with ornamanets or plants, but this one is the only one I’ve seen with its very own lawn. Playing football might not work, but lazing around there in the sun would be fun!
