Back in November I was almost the victim of a pick pocket
I ended up going to court last week to make a statement against the Zakkenroller (pickpocket), I took the bag I’d had with me on the day, and I answered all the questions of the Rechtcommissaris (prosecutor?) and the accused’s lawyer for half an hour or so.
At the end of the process I had to sign a statement, and the case will be heard in court next month – I don’t have to be there thankfully. I also got to collect a small payment for my time.
So he got nothing, and I collected about 20 euro. Funny world.
Postscript: The justice department reported back on the outcome of the case, apparently my zakkenroller was convicted.
