|Il Tramezzino on Harlemmerstraat serves the best coffee in Amsterdam – if not the world – and it’s become a Sunday tradition to drop in for coffee and snack. The coffee is made in the sparkling machine in the background of the photo, and is somehow a softer flavour than coffee regularly served in the city.
Tramezzino means sandwich, specifically a three-cornered one in soft bread. Those on the menu are delicious combinations such as “Bresaola” (bresaola, rucola and grana cheese) and “Solo Vedure” (grilled aubergines, courgette and peppers). All are made fresh on the premises.
Today’s treat was something sweeter, a “bolo” a sort of muffin made using rice, and a “conino di ciocolata” – a small pastry cone filled with chocolate.
Added bonus, the staff are super-multilingual, this guy can take your order in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or English.
