Autumn Leaves

Amsterdam is so pretty in autumn. The leaves on the trees lining the canals fire up in shades of gold to ruby, as they thin the dark tree trunks come through as sculptural. Here they’re curvy and asymmetrical against the formal structure of the Westerkerk.
This is the Westertoren from Prinsengracht, the the tree leaves are much thinner here – as if there is a draft down the canal.
