Coming up next Saturday (6 November) is the Amsterdam Museum Night. It’s a night where many of Amsterdam’s museums are open late – some to 2 am, and many of them put on special temporary exhibitions. Here are some of the museums taking part.
There’s a competition for one minute promotions movies with this year’s theme being “How night transforms Amsterdam”. Take a look and vote for your favourite.
There’s limited information in English on the site, but the facebook announcements are generally in English. There’s also a English guide to be downloaded. You can create your own programme online, but the tool is only in Dutch. I’ve created some simple translations to show how it works.
(1) Create an account
Go to the register page and enter a few simple details to create your own account.
(2) On the programme page use the filters to make your selection
(3) Select all the events you want to attend
(4) Go back to “Mijn n8” to see the programme you’ve compiled and print it out.
Online ticket sales have finished, but you can still buy tickets at various outlets, the easiest to find is the Ticket Office on Leidseplein, where tickets are on sale until 9pm on Saturday (unless sold out earlier). Tickets are 17.50, but go up to 20 euro on the night.
