Saturday Market; every good thing

I love the mushroom stall, particularly in autumn. They had these “pink oyster” mushrooms today I’ve never seen before. The women running the stall are really knowledgeable, they can tell you all about the mushrooms and give you cooking and serving hints. They also had the bad news that this year is a terrible season for truffles.

For once figs were on sale, 10 figs for 2 euro. They are ready to eat right now. So I had to buy some goats cheese.


I choose this lemon honey flavoured goats cheese, it came wrapped in a twist of paper. It is soft and creamy and the added flavourings are very gentle. I will poach the figs and crumble the cheese over them. Just thinking about it is mouth-watering.
