The only truffle I’ve seen this year, I got to smell it. It smells wonderful, but at 5.80 per gram it’s a bit much to put on my omelette.
Instead I bought these tiny mousseron mushrooms. According to the stall holder they grow in a field amongst the grass so can have some sand or grit in them – they’re the only mushrooms that should be rinsed before use. There’s mushroom risotto on the menu tonight!
