We’ve had a long slow winter, and not much of a spring. This has been reflected in what’s available in the market, particularly in the vegetable and flower stands.
So this week when I saw that cherries were available, big lush fat red cherries, it made me happy just to look at them.
Officially 1 June is the first day of summer in the UK – at least for the meteorologists. In the Netherlands it’s not until 21 June.
